PRITHA BISARAD, PHD

I am a research scientist whose work entails identification of biomolecular and neurophysiological factors that maybe driving movement disorders in children. One of my current projects evaluates genetic causes of cerebral palsy across genetically diverse population groups. Another important project involves characterizing brain waves (local field potentials) in individuals who are being treated with deep brain stimulation (DBS). Such characterization helps us learn more about disease behavior as well improve programming for personalized care.

Before joining the lab, I completed my PhD in Chemistry from Arizona State University where my research was focused on predicting biomolecular interactions between proteins and peptides. We investigated these interactions with the aid of high throughput biochemical assays on microarrays and deep neural network algorithms.
