MICHAEL KRUER, MD
Principal Investigator
Associate Professor
I am a physician-scientist and PI of the lab. My clinical work focuses on pediatric movement disorders, and our research is inherently translational, spanning diagnostics, mechanisms, and therapeutics of disorders that include cerebral palsy, rare neurogenetic diseases, and Tourette Syndrome. As PI, I provide direction and support to the talented scientists that comprise the lab. I believe that my role is to enable remarkable people to be at their best, and with this in mind, I try to provide training and grow careers while facilitating exciting projects that challenge assumptions. Our projects range from mechanistic basic science to practical clinical studies, but most invoke expertise that spans genomics, molecular & cellular biology, neuroscience, computer science, and clinical medicine.
