JACOB FORSTROM, BS

Research Assistant

After finishing my Bachelor of Science in physiology from the University of Arizona, I joined the Kruer lab in July 2021 and have been under the mentorship of Dr. Lewis. During my time here I have been involved in Drosophila research, specifically assisting with a AGAP1 linked neurodevelopmental disorder fly model. Currently, I am working on a Drosophila model of dystonia and establishing a mechanosensory assay to analyze impaired fly movement. In the Fall of 2023, I will begin medical school at Midwestern University and hope to continue pursuing my interest in pediatric movement disorders.
