Dr. Brandon Guida

My research is focused on the identification and characterization of molecular phenotypes associated with bioinformatically-identified CP-associated genes. I am extremely interested in mutations identified in genes involved in cytoskeletal modulation and regulation such as those in the RHO pathway. Using high-resolution microscopy as well as live cell imaging techniques we probe cytoskeletal dynamics in different genetic contexts in both cell lines and in patient-derived iPSC-neurons in an attempt to understand the pathology associated with distinct mutations, with a focus on common mechanisms that alter neurodevelopment.
